About This Deck
A Transpant to Timeless
Izzet Delver is a classic eternal format staple that has recently made its way to the Timeless format with recent printings. Making its waves primarily in the Legacy format, it has caused numerous bannings while maintaining a strong meta share.
With Force of Will and Daze being printed into MTG Arena's Timeless format, this deck is officially released out into the MTGA world. Paired with the recent printing of Strip Mine, which also took the format by storm, we build a low-to-the-ground tempo deck like nothing Timeless has seen.
Gameplan
The gameplan of this deck is to take control of the board state quickly, and limit both ourselves and our opponents' resources. We take aggressive posture early, and aim to pass turn always holding up free countermagic and/or the ability to draw into it at instant speed. This deck also tries to pursue a strategy of deploying small, effective creatures to the board early, such as Hydroponics Architect and Dragon's Rage Channeler. Once a creature is established, we shift focus to limiting the game options for our opponent at whatever costs, and let our evasive creatures build value and slowly chip away at life totals.
Fetchlands
Island-finding fetchlands are incredibly relevant for this deck, as Hydroponics Architect turns our Strip Mines into fetchables that draw us cards. Notably, this is permanent, so we can cast our spells with this normally colorless land, as well as bounce them to hand with Daze.
Updates
May 7, 2026 | Embracing Low Land Counts
Lands are important to our deck, but the most important is being able to search out our Hydroponics Architect lands. It is often possible to string together multiple draws by fetching a modified fetchland that continues the chain until finding the last card-drawing land. Sometimes this is enough for 3-4 cards at instant speed if we have multiple architects. We drop the only non-island producing source for a Flooded Strand. We know we will play a match that is strapped for resources, and that our card draw can bridge us to making our next land drops, so having a low land count is servicable.
